Farful Foolong Sugar Cookies

These adorable cookies are a great addition to any child's party or get together.


Sugar Cookies

2 sticks soften butter

2 eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

4 cups sifted all purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 teaspoon salt      


Royal Icing

4 tablespoons meringue powder

1/4 cup lemon juice

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon Cream of tartar

2lb bag of powdered sugar, sifted

1 teaspoon vanilla


Sugar Cookies

Cream butter and sugars until combined, add eggs and vanilla and mix until incorporated. Add salt and baking powder. Slowly add flour just until combined. Don't over mix. Divide dough into two pieces. Working with one half, roll out dough and cut desired shapes. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 9-11 minutes or until the edges of cookie are just starting the change to a light golden brown. Cool completely before icing.


Royal Icing

Mix all together (except sugar) with a whisk until foamy. Add powered sugar and mix with a paddle attachment for 2-3 minutes. Store in an airtight container until ready to use.

Note:  To thin frosting to pipe on cookies, add desired about in small bowl, add food coloring and thin with a tablespoon of water.
